Community United Receives Recognition Award by Mayor of San José


On February 9, 2012, Community United San José was honored at the Mayor's State of the City Address. As the operator of the Starbird and Alma Youth Centers, Community United received an award for providing a brighter future for young people in San José. They received acknowledgment for presenting the Good Choices Program (based on "The Way To Happiness") to at-risk youth, which covers issues such as drug prevention, gang prevention and environmental stewardship.
