Adobe Youth Voices (AYV) First Place Award goes to Alma's Student Media Mentor

Congratulations Yvan Gonzalez, Student Media Mentor at Alma Youth Center—First Place Winner!

It's an exciting day as the Adobe Foundation has announced the winners of the third annual Adobe Youth Voices (AYV) Awards, a global, online competition inviting students ages 13-19 to use digital media to express their vision for driving positive change in their communities.

A record 2,400 students from 50 countries submitted projects this year on social issues including: bullying, body image, and climate change.

AYV Award winners were chosen in seven categories: animation, documentary, photo essay, music video, narrative, poetry and poster campaign. A luminary panel of judges working in art, film, and other creative fields, alongside AYV educators, student alumni, and Adobe representatives chose the first and second place winners.

In the Music Video category, first place was the video “Patience” created by Yvan Gonzales and Seven Trees. The young boy in the video, King, is also an Alma Youth Center participant. Click below to watch.

Adobe Youth Voices congratulates the winners—and honors all the young people who presented their vision for driving positive change. They are such an inspiration to us all!
